Unless your resume is written so that it is easy for a recruiter to read, it could easily be overlooked.

This session will show you what an easy to read resume looks like to increase the likelihood of your resume getting read thoroughly by recruiters.

We will also spend some time looking at each person’s resume and giving some specific advice so that recruiters will be more likely to read your resume.

Please bring multiple copies of your resume with you.

If you bring your resume on a flash drive, we can put it on the computer and give more detailed comments.

Free Webinar: Re-Think! The Brand Called You 5/5

May 3, 2015

May 5, 2015
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

ILostMyJob.com presents a FREE webinar

Re-Think! The Brand Called You: Your Personal Branding Session

with coach Donna Fedor

It’s crucial when you interview for a job to be able to distinguish yourself from every other candidate. Your part on the interview is to articulate why they should hire you. Who are they hiring? What is your character, track record, and reputation? What can they count on? Through a series of questions, they hope to get to know you.

This is an area where many people struggle. We first must learn how to deal with all the negative thoughts that are present in our mental chatter, clouding our ability to see our full value.

When you’re unclear and have difficulty talking about yourself, it’s actually uncomfortable, and you’re less likely to share yourself with others. You have a brand whether you’re aware of it or not. The brand called you is one of the most important parts of the job search process.

In this free webinar you’ll learn:

-To polish the diamond (you)

-How to change the way you think about you

-How to boost your self-confidence

-Your me file including accomplishments,
strengths, value statement, and elevator pitch

-What relationships are absolutely necessary to drive you forward toward the fulfillment of your ultimate life

Free Resume Workshop 5/5

May 3, 2015

May 5, 2015
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Career Network Ministry at McLean Bible Church presents a FREE

Resume Workshop

with Pascale Haspil, vp at Lee Hecht Harrison

It’s a fact that 70% of all jobs are acquired through networking. While the importance of a resume is overrated, it is still part of the etiquette of applying for a job and thus should be well written.

In this one hour workshop we will discuss:

-Brand strategy – (i.e. How do you differentiate yourself from the competition? Who is today’s hiring manager?)

-Active verbs & alternative sentence openers – (i.e. What voice are you using to describe your skills. Strategic vs. tactical.)

-Quantifying & qualifying experience – (i.e. How do you turn bullet points into accomplishment statements.)

-Resume design & structure – (i.e. How long and how far back should you go. Chronological vs.functional.)

This session will be interactive and will focus on addressing frequently asked resume questions.

Participants are encouraged to bring their resumes for reference.
