Writing Resumes Recruiters Want to Read

Recruiters get thousands of resumes. Typically a recruiter spends about 3 seconds per resume.

Unless your resume is written so that it is easy for a recruiter to read, it could easily be overlooked.

This session will show you what an easy to read resume looks like to increase the likelihood of your resume getting read thoroughly by recruiters.

We will also spend some time looking at each person’s resume and giving some specific advice so that recruiters will be more likely to read your resume.

Please bring multiple copies of your resume with you.

If you bring your resume on a flash drive, we can put it on the computer and give more detailed comments.

A Day in the Life of a Recruiter

with Mike Bruni, a senior recruiter at SAIC

You should leave this seminar with a clear understanding of the pressures which recruiters work under. You also should have an understanding of some of the differences between the hiring managers recruiters work with. The result should be that you will be better prepared to work with recruiters.

While the ultimate goal is for you to get a great job, the intermediate goal which this seminar address will be for you to become a preferred candidate with the recruiters you work with. This can only help you job search.

Treat these seminars like job interviews. For men this means dressing in a suit and tie.

Reverse Engineering Your Job Search

with Lisa Harriman

Learn you create your ideal job.

What Lisa will be teaching is quite similar to what recruiters do for candidates. When recruiters find a candidate who they know they can place but have no position, recruiters will “market” that candidate to numerous hiring managers and firms. There is a methodology that recruiters follow. Lisa is teaching this so that you can be your own recruiter.

Please treat our events as if they are a formal job interview. For men this means dressing in suit and tie.
